The PPS World Languages program was recognized at a ceremony on May 12, 2016, by the NJ Department of Education as an outstanding world languages program and as a model across the state for best practices. The award includes recognition of the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program at Community Park School, which, while only newly launched this year, captured the attention of the inspection team of state officials, college professors and world languages supervisors, who conducted an extensive program review and site visit at PPS as part of the selection process.
As a model program, PPS will continue to serve as resource center for other districts for the next two years. Educators can visit the schools to observe exemplary practices in teaching, learning and assessment in the classroom.
Congratulations to World Languages Supervisor Priscilla Russel, CP Principal Dineen Gruchacz, and the entire staff of the World Languages Department and the DLI program!
